The latest Wesley accomplishment

So my little man is all about the army crawl/bunny-hop/whatever he does.  Gwen thought he might actually crawl earlier today, but he’s content doing his own thing.  She told me that his new thing today was sitting up.  He’s been close for several days now, but can’t quite get it.  I was waiting for him to do it for me, but, alas, he wouldn’t.  Before we got him ready for bed, I was down on the floor playing with him.  When we got done playing, he tried to sit up and then he did it.  As I was clapping for him, he had the biggest, cheesiest smile on his face.  Yet again, I’m a very proud papa!

Fussy baby

So we had put Wesley to bed at his normal bed time.  All was well until we went to bed around 11.  Gwen and I were lying in bed talking and around 11:30, Wesley had a cry that we had never heard before.  It seems that he might have an upset stomach.  We were looking for the Mylicon drops and couldn’t find them.  So I head to Walmart to get some.  I go to the baby section, forgetting that they are in the pharmacy section.  They didn’t have the little bottle, so I had to get the big bottle (which was $11.53!).  They had one lane open; not a big deal – unless you want to check out at midnight!  Why, you ask?  At midnight, they have to switch out the drawers.  So there I stood while they closed out the drawer and cashier #1 finished so cashier #2 could put in fresh money.

Right now, Wesley is asleep, I think, on Gwen, on the couch.  Hopefully when we lay him back down, he’ll stay asleep and sleep the night away.  I think every day this last week, he’s thrown up at least once – it hasn’t been pretty!

Smiles

Smiles

After service today, Gwen told me of something Wesley did during the service today.  During the Epistle reading, out of nowhere Wesley said “Da da.”  Of course, I couldn’t hear it from the altar.  🙁  I’ve been trying to get Wesley to say this for the longest time, especially since he is very good at saying “Ma Ma.”  Monday when I played Mr. Mom while Gwen went to school, that was what Wesley kept saying, over and over again.

This afternoon while we were out at Walmart, we’re just casually going up and down the ailes and out of no where he said “Da da.”  And then, he proceeded to say it a couple of more times.

It was a very proud moment for dear ol’ dad today, let me tell you!

Tilt-a-Wes

So lately I’ve been trying to get Wesley on video doing Wes-things.  That’s a word, isn’t it?  Anywho, he does like the laundry basket so when we go home after church, we put him in the laundry basket again while we changed our clothes. Here’s video from the Tilt-a-Wes.

A little snack

I got to feed Wesley his lunch today. He had some prunes and then carrots. After that, he got a new snack stick.  The toast that he tried last week didn’t really do it for him.  Apparently, this didn’t do it for him either, but it was fun to watch.

When we got home from church and lunch, it was time to get out of the church clothes.  As I was changing, I had Wesley up on the bed and found a “toy” for him to play with.  He seemed to enjoy it.

Wesley video #1

I’ve done a few videos of Wesley with my phone, but never anything worth uploading.  Today, we tried something new.  We gave him a Gerber Graduates Finger Foods to gnaw on.  He had zwieback toast.  Some of the faces he makes when he takes the toast stick out of his mouth are pretty good.  Hopefully the video works.

Wesley’s 6-month check-up

Bath time

Bath time

So Wesley had his 6-month check up today.  Here’s the important things to know:

Weight: 21 pounds (90-95 %)
Height: 28 1/4 inches (90-95 %)
Head: 42 cm (25%)

Right now, he’s where he should be for a 9-month old!  What can I say, he’s advanced for his age!
